Taiwan-based handset maker, High Tech Computer (HTC), expects strong fourth quarter sales to make 2016 its best year yet.
The company is expecting to report revenue for the first three quarters of around NT$105 billion – already hot on the heels of last year’s full year total of NT$118.6 billion.
Projected fourth quarter sales of NT$48.8 billion will give a year total of $154 billion, up 30% on year.
HTC’s own brand smartphones have proved to be a huge success around the world, with Apple’s new iPhone failing to dent sales figures.
Sales of HTC’s already released Touch Diamond smartphone are expected to increase in the fourth quarter, whilst the release of HTC’s much anticipated Google-powered Android handset later this month will give a significant boost to revenue.
Chief Financial Executive, Cheng Hui-ming, said HTC plans to maintain its strong position and stay competitive by moving its focus to software development and application services.
