Aircraft Noise

Tim has been working hard to ensure the authorities cannot ignore residents' concerns about aircraft noise, organising public meetings locally and raising this issue at Westminster.

Tim met the Aviation Minister in 2008 to emphasise the disproportionate effect of aircraft noise on people living in tranquil areas compared to big conurbations like London (although as is evident from the strength of the campaign against expansion of Heathrow, even Londoners have had enough).

He has continually argued that the idea of moving air traffic from over towns to rural areas is wrongheaded and that the option of planes being stacked over the sea should instead be considered more carefully.
