A survey by price comparison website uSwitch ranks Orange as the worst UK broadband provider for customer service, closely followed by TalkTalk.
The annual survey covered more than 10,500 UK residents. Over a third (35%) of Orange’s customers said they were dissatisfied with their broadband service, and 31% of TalkTalk’s customers expressed dissatisfaction.
Customers across the board were less satisfied than a year earlier, with a 3% drop in service satisfaction.
A quarter of customers of leading broadband providers were dissatisfied with their broadband service according to the survey.
The survey highlighted a number of technical problems related to advances in broadband technology. Frequent connection problems and service problems were identified. These tended to require several phone calls before customers were able to get the problems rectified.
Plusnet provided the highest level of customer satisfaction – 78% of customers were satisfied with its services.
AOL, Sky and Virgin Media followed closely on Plusnet’s heels, all with a 76% customer satisfaction rate.
