Loop Mobile appoints CEO

Indian telecoms provider Loop Mobile has appointed Sandip Basu as chief executive officer.

Basu takes the helm ahead of plans to roll-out Loop Telecom nationwide.

He has also been tasked with strengthening the position of Loop Mobile in Mumbai.

Basu, who replaces Sanjeev Chachondia, previously served as director and chief executive of XCEL TElecom.

Loop Telecom, formerly BPL Mobile Communications, has rolled-out operations in Kerala, Karntaka, Tamil Nadu, and Orissa. It is licensed to operate services across 21 Indian circles.

Basu worked at BPL Mobile from 1997 to 2005.
