Paltalk’s webchat software this week hit the number one spot for the most downloaded chat program on CNET’s

Nearly 75,000 copies of the PaltalkScene software were downloaded in the week ending 19 April, compared to 40,000 downloads of Windows Live Messenger.

“Paltalk’s rise in popularity on reflects the increasing popularity of video chat into the mainstream,” said Judy Shapiro, Paltalk’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

She added that Paltalk is the result of ten years dedicated research and development in video chat.

PaltalkScene includes a SuperIM feature, the ability to videochat with up to 10 people simultaneously, and the possibility of connecting with anyone in the world, even if they don’t have Paltalk software on their computer.

As well as being popular with the CNET community, Paltalk has been endorsed by the CNET editors.

Giving the software four out of five stars, the editors wrote: “Paltalk’s integration of video, audio and text chatting unified into one window makes for a strong chatware program that includes a wealth of features.”
