Blyk continues European expansion

June 25, 2016

Blyk, a free mobile network for 16-24 year olds, is expanding into Germany, Spain and Belgium next year.

Earlier this year the ad funded network announced its intention to enter the Dutch market.

The expansion builds on Blyk’s success in the UK, where it registered 100,000 members six months earlier than expected.

The network connects advertisers with young people, a demographic that is traditionally hard for advertisers to reach.

Blyk uses its members’ profiles to send targeted ads via MMS.

In return, members receive 217 free texts and 43 free minutes, to any UK network.

Blyk has already run over 900 UK campaigns for major brands, including Coca Cola, STA Travel, Penguin and L’Oreal, achieving an impressive average response rate of 29 percent.

In the UK, Blyk aims to increase the number of brands using Blyk to 200 by the end of 2016, and further build its membership.
