UTStarcom, Inc., a global leader in IP-based, end-to-end networking solutions and services, has secured its first IPTV contract in Latin America for its RollingStream end-to-end IPTV solution with the launch of Brasil Telecom's Videon IPTV service.

This is the first video offering to its customers from Brasil Telecom, one of Brazil’s leading wireless and fixed-line communications providers. UTStarcom’s RollingStream solution is the sole end-to-end technology platform for its new Videon video-on-demand IPTV service in Brasilia.

There are plans to expand the service to additional cities in the country’s South and Midwest regions during 2016. The RollingStream system designed for Brasil Telecom maintains an additional capacity of 50,000 subscribers for the expansion, in addition to supporting the current subscriber base in Brasilia.

The launch of a video-on-demand, IPTV service is a very important step in Brasil Telecom’s commitment to offer its customers integrated and converged services, such as pay TV, interactive services, broadband access, and fixed and mobile telephony.
