Aircom and SingTel in mobile WiMAX deal

April 10, 2016

Aircom International has been appointed by Singapore-based telecoms operator, SingTel, to provide its ASSET cell planning tool to support SingTel’s GSM and UMTS network.

Aircom will also provide a mobile WiMAX technology pack for radio planning.

With the support of Aircom’s tools, SingTel plans to integrate mobile WiMAX into its cellular network and rollout a commercial mobile WiMAX network in Singapore.

Aircom’s ASSET with WiMAX tool will also help SingTel effectively manage traffic on both fixed and mobile WiMAX networks.

The tool, which is compliant with the 802.16e WiMAX standard, can produce reports on statistics on network performance, and can provide detailed WiMAX plans as well as looking after other network technologies such as GSM, UMTS and HSDPA.

UK-based AIRCOM International is a provider of end-to-end network optimisation consultancy and tools for IP and cellular networks.
