New gateways for small businesses from Pirelli Broadband

New gateways for small businesses from Pirelli Broadband

October 9, 2015

The Discus DSBG Series, a new line of business-class routers, will be introduced by Pirelli Broadband Solutions at the Broadband World Forum Europe 2015 conference and exhibition in Berlin.

Pirelli Broadband Solutions, a new company within the Pirelli Group, specialises in broadband access and photonics solutions for telecom operators and service providers.

The new line of business gateways introduces a new and cost-effective approach to hardware modularity, enabling a business owner to buy exactly what equipment is needed and upgrade to suit the growth of the business.

The DSBG series, supporting TR-069 automatic configuration and provisioning, also features value-added services such as web content filtering, anti-virus, e-mail filtering, and video surveillance which are available on-demand via a web-based, service-delivery portal.

Pirelli devices can also be equipped with smart card readers and support IP-PBX services.

Pirelli considers that the needs of SOHO/small business customers have been underserved and anticipates that this new line of business gateways will cover a gap in the marketplace. In particular, Telco operators could find the new line an attractive solution for increasing their ARPU.

The Discus DSBG Series is a cost-effective solution designed specifically for SOHO and professional markets, featuring a mix of FXS and ISDN BRI voice interfaces and advanced data services.

The comprehensive portfolio of gateways features ADSL 2/2+ devices available with a four-port Ethernet switch and mixed voice configurations (PSTN and ISDN BRI) with up to eight simultaneous voice channels.

Pirelli devices support Wi-Fi connectivity both for data and VoWLAN applications.

The Broadband World Forum Europe 2015 conference and exhibition takes place in Berlin between 9 and 11 October 2015.
