T-Systems wins BP contract

December 3, 2017

Deutsche Telekom’s business solutions division, T-Systems, has won a landmark deal with BP Plc.

T-Systems will provide the energy group with voice and data services over a period of five years.

It will carry out a transformation programme to simplify BP’s network by reducing the number of suppliers.

This is expected to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

A multi-sourcing model will be introduced which will allow BP units to chose communications services that best meet their needs.

Reinhard Clemens, T-Systems’ CEO, said: “In the current economic climate, it is imperative that ICT providers demonstrate a clear ability to have a positive impact on their clients’ business performance.

“From today, it will be a priority for T-Systems to apply our combination of IT and Telecommunications capabilities to deliver strong business results for BP.”

T-Systems recently announced a new energy-efficient data center in São Paulo, Brazil which will house 2,000 servers.
