HTC and Reliance join forces in India

March 21, 2016

Taiwan-based High Tech Computer (HTC) is set to co-operate with India-based Reliance Communications on the promotion of next generation CDMA devices in the Indian market. The deal provides HTC with the chance to enter Inda’s quickly growing CDMA market, whilst Reliance will use HTC products to expand their range of PDA devices that use the CDMA platform.

The alliance between HTC and Reliance means that HTC’s CDMA handsets will be exclusively available on Reliance’s wireless networks, which give access to voice, video and data communications in 15,000 towns and 600,000 villages across India. This includes high-speed internet access using CDMA 1X technology.

Reliance will start out by supplying two HTC models, the HTC S720 and the HTC P3000, in its authorised stores across India. The S720 will cost Rs. 19,500, whilst the P3000 will cost Rs. 16,500.
