China’s mobile phone user numbers still on the increase

In February the number of subscribers to mobile telecoms services in China rose 1.7% compared to the previous month, and by 19.3% on year. According to China’s Ministry of Information Industry (MII), the total number of subscribers has now topped 565.23 million

This number, accurate on 29th February, accounts for 41.6% of China’s population. On the same day, the country had 362.19 million subscribers to fixed telecom networks.

Total short messages sent in China during February was 61.61 billion, an average of 3.79 messages per phone number every day.
