T-Mobile launches PAYG mobile broadband

T-Mobile has become the first UK operator to release pay-as-you-go mobile broadband with the option of buying just one day’s credit.

Customers on the service can pay for mobile broadband on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, after purchasing a wireless Internet dongle for £49.99.

One day’s unlimited internet access costs £2, a week costs £10 and a month’s access can be purchased for £20.

Richard Warmsley, head of internet and entertainment at T-Mobile, said the service was launched due to customer demand.

He added that the service removes the complexity from mobile broadband, which the company hopes will give more people the confidence to embrace internet on the go.

Once the USB dongle has been purchased, customers just plug it into the USB slot on their laptop or PC, where they will be prompted to buy the credit they need.

Download speed is up to 3.6Mbps, whilst uploads are 0.3 Mbps. All packages are subject to a fair usage limit of 3GB. Access to T-Mobile wireless hotspots is included.
