Ericsson and Svenska UMTS Nät launch mobile broadband in Sweeden

Ericsson and Svenska UMTS Nät who are owned by Teliasonera and Tele2 are expanding their a joint mobile broadband service in Sweeden.

Teliasonera and Tele2 will offer enhanced broadband with speed of up to 7.2 Mbps, the network is reportedly prepared for usage of up to 14.4 Mbps.

Ericsson’s HSPA technology allows downlink speed of up to 14.4 Mbps , however at the moment a maximum downlink of 7.2 Mps has currently been imposed on users. The technology is said to boost network capacity and increase response times

The launch has already happening, and before the end of the year all the major Swedish cities are expected to be covered by this service.
