The ETNA, has received approval from the European Commission, to begin its ETNA project, analyzing, designing and validating future metro and core networks.

ETNA aim to produce a model for a low cost network, capable of serving millions, and providing a reliable source for current and future networks.

The European Commission will invest €2.2 million, of the total €3.4 million invested, hoping to create opportunities for high value products, while increasing benefits to European citizens and businesses.

The new agenda will see ETNA highlight the minimum requirement for Ethernet networks and implement the networks in a cost efficient environment.
