BT Italia to become mobile virtual network operator in December

BT Italia’s MVNO service is planned to launch in Italy on 3 December 2015.

The new mobile service will complement BT Corporate Fusion, a package combining mobile, VoIP and wi-fi services. BT Corporate Fusion targets small and mid-sized companies as well as large organisations, including public administration.

Vodafone which will supply the network backbone and airtime for BT Italia to resell, having agreed a long-term deal.

Vodafone will make available its network infrastructure and will guarantee a wide portfolio of wholesale mobile services, from voice to SMS and from roaming to data traffic, on which BT Italia will be able to base its own offer of integrated fixed and mobile services to clients.

BT Italia is targeting a 10% share of the market for mobile business revenues within five years.
