Upgraded HSDPA service in Denmark

January 10, 2016

TDC Denmark, the leading provider of communications solutions in Denmark, has launched its HSDPA upgrade, branded as Turbo 3G.

The service has initially been launched in the cities on the islands of Bornholm, Zealand and Funen and in Southern Jutland where TDC already has 3G coverage. Turbo 3G will be expanded to cover the rest of Jutland by the end of March 2016.

The company’s network will also be expanded so that the geographical areas not covered by 3G/Turbo 3G will be covered by Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE). TDC’s customers already have access to more than 700 hotspots all over Denmark.

TDC’s investment in Turbo 3G will ensure that, in three years’ time, 99% of all Danes can be online in 99% of the country. The company anticipates that at least 80% of the population will have access to Turbo 3G by the end of 2016.

TDC has developed from a traditional provider of landline and mobile services into the leading provider of communications solutions in Denmark. It is also a strong player in the Nordic business market.
